The Middle-order Batter Rinku Singh has been summoned to Dharamsala by the team management to take part in the Photoshoot for the T20 World Cup squad ahead of the fifth test of England’s tour of India 2024.

The left-handed batter Rinku Singh was summoned to Dharamsala to take part in a photoshoot for the Men’s T20 World Cup.
The 8th edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup is set to be hosted by the USA and West Indies in June 2024 and Rinku Singh will be one of the frontrunners to be part of the Indian squad.
With India having no T20 schedules before the World Cup tournament, IPL 2024 will be the only available tournament for finalizing the players for the Indian squad and gaining experience in the format.
But it would be required only for certain spots. With Rohit Sharma set to captain the side for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, other senior players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Rinku Singh have more or less confirmed their place in the squad.
The left-hander’s presence in the special photoshoot for the T20 World Cup gives a hint on his inclusion in the squad. It might not be a surprise if the selectors and the team management feel Rinku to be included in the squad irrespective of his performance.
Rinku Singh has played in 11 innings and scored 356 runs at a strike rate of 176.23 while batting at no.5 or lower. This shows he has the ability as the finisher.
On the other hand with the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, India will be having multiple options to pick Rohit Sharma’s opening partner, but India has been struggling with the finisher’s role for many years.
But after Rinku’s arrival India squad has sorted out the problem. He is a player who can perform under pressure. He has proven his finisher role over time and again during his play in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders.
He also has been awarded with BCCI Central contract for the first time for the 2023-24 season. Rinku Singh met England head coach Brendon McCullum and shared the photo on Social Media.
They have a special connection, Brendon McCullum has been the head coach of the franchise and the Player has been part of the KKR squad since 2018.
After the photoshoot, Rinku returned to Mumbai for KKR’s pre-season camp under the watchful eyes of assistant coach Abhishek Nayar.
The 17th edition of the IPL 2024 is set to begin on March 22. CSK and RCB are set to play in the first match of the IPL 2024 schedule at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing their first match of the IPL 2024 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 at Eden Gardens.
