England has been suffering back-to-back defeats in their India tour. After suffering a defeat in the first test, India came back stronger to secure victory in the second and third tests.

Despite India’s major injury concerns, they managed to pull victory in the Vizag and Rajkot Tests. Meanwhile, England’s captain Ben Stokes has been desperate for defeat due to inexperienced bowling attacks.

Stokes commented on the bowling unit where Indian youngsters have been impressive during the second innings of the third test. Sarfaraz Khan, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal combined to set up a score of 557-runs target against the visitors.

Despite their failure with batting, the bowling unit got the most criticism for their performance in the third test. James Anderson and Mark Wood bowled Expensive spells during the third test.

Stokes went through knee surgery after the ODI World Cup 2023 and has not bowled since then. After seeing the defeat in the test, he hinted that he had no choice but to bowl in the next test.

He said that he may be urged to take matters into his own hands during the post-match press conference.

“I feel really good. I had my first bowl at 100%. As a person, I like to jump the gun a little bit too much. I have said I have a whole body to get used to bowling. I am not saying no, but I am not saying yes either,” Stokes said.

“Every game has been filled with multiple unbelievable things to witness as a supporter. Jaiswal, that double hundred, was phenomenal to watch. Ben Duckett played an incredible knock,” Stokes added.

“We are very disappointed to be on the wrong side of the result but one thing we are very good at as a team is to leave everything behind us – make sure we are focussing on what we have ahead.”

“Games can be won and lost in the head. We will be leaving the disappointment and going on to the next one,” Stokes added.

India and England will be playing in their fourth test on February 23 at JSCA International Stadium Complex.
