With only a few hours left before the start of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, cricket fans across the globe are set to witness the highly anticipated clash between reigning Champions CSK and RCB in the first match of the tournament.
Meanwhile, on the eve of the IPL 2024, out of 10 skippers of IPL franchises only nine gathered at the IPL 2024 captains photoshoot. Everyone was surprised when Punjab Kings Captain Shikhar Dhawan was absent from the scene.
Instead of Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma was present for the photoshoot. The reason why Jitesh Sharma was present is because he is PBKS’ vice-captain for IPL 2024 and had to be there in the absence of his skipper Dhawan.

PBKS has been one of the teams who never lifted the IPL trophy so far. They were runners in the 2014 edition and also reached playoffs during the season 2008.
Their constant change in the team’s leadership has limited the ability of the winning options.

All 10 teams will be playing with each other teams in the group stage matches and the top four teams will be qualifying for the playoffs.
The winner of the first qualifier match will be directly advanced to the finals while the qualifier one loser and Eliminator round winners will be playing in qualifier 2 which will decide the second finalist of the tournament.
Both teams will be playing in the final match of the tournament to determine the title winner of the IPL 2024.
