    Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was seen dancing with joy to the famous song ‘Om Shanti Om’ during the Wankhede’s 50th anniversary celebration.

    The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had organised an event to celebrate 50 years of the iconic Indian stadium as they invited several veterans of the game to honour the occasion.

    Several Fames like Ajinkya Rahane, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Rohit Sharma were spotted at the venue among the crowd to celebrate the occasion.

    Gavaskar was seen in dancing mood as he shaked his leg for a bollywood song along with singer Shekhar Ravjiani.

    The Cricket god Sachin Tendulkar was also seen singng the song after being handed over the mic by Shekhar.

    The stadium has a rich crickteing history as Men in Blue won their second ODI World Cup at the venue after defeating Sri Lanka in 2011 World Cup finals. It also seen India’s first ever white wash in test cricket and Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI hundred.

    However, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was also seen posing with the Champions Trophy which was displayed at the Stadium ahead of the mega event set to begin from February 19.

    He also spoke about bringing in another trophy to Mumbai stadium.

    “We will embark on another tournament. I am sure when we reach Dubai, the wishes of 140 crore people will be behind us, we know that,” Rohit said, evoking cheers from the crowd at the Wankhede Stadium.

    “We will try and do everything we can to bring this trophy back here to the Wankhede,” he added.

    As India’s Champions trophy schedule, the Men in Blues will play their all their matches in Dubai after a stance with PCB on not travelling to Pakistan. Being placed in Group A, India will play their group stage matches with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

    India’s first match will be against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai International Stadium.
