The player of the series award winner for the West Indies vs India ODI series Shubman Gill feels very disappointed how he got out in the first two ODIs.
Shubman Gill on Missing his Maiden Century
In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill opened the inning along with Shikhar Dhawan in all three ODI matches. Gill scored 64, 43, and 98 runs in the ODI matches respectively.
Especially Gill played a crucial knock in the rain-interrupted last ODI match where India beat West Indies by 119 runs(DLS method).
Winning the toss India decides to bat first where Indian opening batters Gill and Dhawan made an exceptional opening partnership by scoring 113 runs for the first wicket. After the rain interrupted the play the match has been reduced to 36 overs.
India scored 225 runs for 3 wickets while by DLS, West Indies were in need of 257 runs in 35 overs.
“Was hoping to get a hundred, but that (rain) was not under my control. Was very disappointed how I got out in the first two ODIs. I tried to play according to the ball and let the instincts take over,” said Gill in a post-match presentation.
“I wanted only one more over, was hoping for that. The wicket played fantastically in all three games. The ball was gripping a bit after 30 overs. Happy with my performance,” he added.
West Indies fans were stunned after Siraj dismissed Mayers and Brooks in the second over where the Windies scoreboard remains zero. Following team India’s aggressive bowling attack the hosts loses all their 10 wickets while scoring 137 runs and lost the match by 119 runs.
