Warwickshire has signed Australian allrounder Glenn Maxwell for the upcoming T20 Blast 2023, the club confirmed on Tuesday (February 14). Glenn Maxwell will be the club’s second overseas signing after Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali.

In 2021, Maxwell was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore after a massive bidding war with the Chennai Super Kings. He finished as the team’s highest scorer in the season, with 513 runs. He was retained by them for the 2022 IPL season as well.
Maxwell is expected to join the squad after his IPL stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore. “It’s an amazing signing – he’s one of the fastest scorers in world cricket – and I’m sure he’ll be a favourite with Bears fans,” Coach Mark Robinson said. “He’s the perfect T20 batter for us: he’s a power hitter with a fantastic range of shots which makes it hard for opposing sides to set fields, plus he’s an outstanding fielder. I can’t wait to welcome Glenn into the fold.”
The 34-year-old allrounder has previously had stints with Hampshire, Surrey, Yorkshire and Lancashire in the county circuit.

Maxwell has so far played 377 T20s and scored 8451 runs, including 5 centuries and 47 half-centuries and bagged 133 wickets at an average of 31.74.
