Virat Kohli, Patidar, Yash Dayal Retained by RCB for IPL 2025

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has made three retentions – Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dhayal ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Despite having performed well in the last few years, they are still yet to clinch their maiden IPL trophy.

There was a discussion about whether to retain captain Faf du Plessis. Under his captaincy, RCB qualified for playoffs twice and has been also impressive with the bat scoring 468, 730 and 438 runs respectively.

With his future remains uncertain, RCB has released him for IPL 2025. He has done a commendable job as a captain, with the bat and in the field.
