Indian batter Virat Kohli made his international debut on August 18, 2008, in an ODI match against Sri Lanka.

Kohli scripted multiple records which include scoring the most runs in T20I internationals and IPL. He also holds the record of the fastest to reach 10,000 ODI runs and ICC named him as the cricketer of the decade in 2020.

Virat Kohli led the under-19 team to the World Cup trophy due to which he got a senior cap after a few months. He gave the team management a strong cause for entering the India squad in the future.

Scoring 235 runs from six innings, he was the third-highest run-getter in the competition. He had scored 25,582 runs from 559 innings in international cricket. He has scored 76 centuries in his career so far.

There were lots of famous wins including the victory over Australia in the Gabba Test and many other series wins. He ended his 3-year-long wait for a century.

It was a special day for Kohli, and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah applauded Kohli for his dedication and incredible achievements in his career. He also wished the batter for doing his best in upcoming assignments. He posted a tweet on the X.

The post had a description of “Congratulations to the incredible @imVkohli on 15 years of unwavering commitment to international cricket! Your passion, perseverance, and remarkable achievements have inspired millions. Wishing you continued success and many more milestones ahead!”

Virat is currently rested for the 3-match T20I series against Ireland and he will be expected to return to action on Asia Cup 2023. Recently Former head coach Ravi Shastri suggested Virat Kohli bat on No.4 in the team during the World Cup starting October 5 in India.

He has suggested a change in Kohli’s batting position with selectors in the previous World Cup 2019. Shastri claimed that his suggestion will help India in helping the squad in the lineup.

India has not announced their squad for the Asia Cup 2023, but the player is expected to be part of the side for Asia Cup and the upcoming World Cup in India.
