Coming to the match, England won the toss and opted to bowl. Steven Taylor and Andries Gous started the innings while Reece Topley opened the bowling attack. Topley picked the first wicket for England. Andries Gous scored 8 runs before being dismissed in a delivery where he didn’t get the timing right.
Philip Salt went for the catch in the deep Square and eventually succeeded in it. With the dismissal of Steven Taylor for 12 runs by Sam Curran. Adil Rashid picked the wickets of Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar for 10 and 30 runs respectively. With the dismissal of Milind Kumar’s four runs, the United States lost five wickets for 88 runs.
Harmeet Singh was sent out for 21 runs while Corey Anderson was sent out of for 29 runs. with the dismissal of Corey, the US lost seven wickets for 115 runs in the 19th over. With Chris Jordan’s three-wicket haul, the United States lost all 10 wickets scoring 115 runs by the end of 20 overs.
