Top five expensive players in WPL 2024 auction: With the auction for WPL 2024 online, we have listed the top five highest players who are the most expensive players.
The WPL 2024 auction is scheduled to be held on December 09 in Mumbai. A total of 60 players including 21 overseas cricketers were retained across five playing teams while 29 players were released from their existing squads.
A total of 165 cricketers will undergo the hammer during the auction event. Out of 165 players, 104 are Indians and 61 are overseas players of which 15 players are from associate nations. The total capped players are 56, uncapped players are 109.

Kashvee Gautam
The all-rounder Kashvee Gautam becomes the most expensive uncapped player in the 2024 auctions. The player who registered her base price for INR 10 lakhs has been auctioned for 2 Crores by Gujarat Giants. RCB, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat have been involved in the intense battle of bidding for the player, but Gujarat was successful in the bid.
Kashvee had recently featured in India A in the three-match series against England where England won the series 2-1. She was the first Indian women cricketer to take 10 wickets in an innings during the match against Arunachal Pradesh.
Annabel Sutherland
Annabel Sutherland was the most expensive foreign player as she was auctioned for INR 2 Crores by Delhi Capitals. There was a war between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants where the player was sold to Delhi.
In the inaugural edition of the WPL, she played for Gujarat Giants where she was auctioned for INR 70 lakhs. She played four matches for the franchise amassing 28 runs and dismissed three wickets.
During the WBBL 2023, she played for Melbourne Stars where she picked 23 wickets and scored 288 runs.
Vrinda Dinesh
The 22-year-old uncapped batter became the second most uncapped player when she was sold to UP Warriorz for INR 1.3 Crores. Over the past two years, she proved her skills and talent in Karnataka’s cricket and was introduced as the part of India U-23 squad in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in Hong Kong.
Vrinda was part of the India squad which played an ODI series against England during England A women’s tour of India.
Shabnim Ismail
The 35-year-old cricket is one of the most experienced players in the WPL 2024 auction. Shabnim Ismail has registered for the event with a base price of INR 40 lakhs and has been auctioned for 1.2 Crores by Mumbai Indians.
During the WPL 2023, she played for UP Warriorz and she was among the four players released by the franchised off the season. During the recently completed WBBL, she played for Hobart Hurricanes and finished as the franchise’s joint second-highest taker with 13 wickets in 14 matches.
Phoebe Litchfield
Phoebe Litchfield became the first played to be sold in the WPL Auction where she was sold to Gujarat Giants for INR 1 Crore. At 16, she made her debut for Sydney Thunders and quickly made history by becoming the youngest player to score to WBBL half-century in her second match.
She was then highlighted for hitting her first WNCL century for NSW in October 2022. She was part of the recently played WBBL 2023 where their side was sent out in the eliminators round.
