Post a dreadful campaign in IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani met the Mumbai players and shared an inspiring message and also admitted that there’s a need to go back and review what happened in this campaign.
Under Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians were expected to make an impressive performance in IPL 2024 but things went even worse than the last year.
Ahead of the IPL 2024 season, Mumbai Indians traded Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans and named him as the captain of the team for the 2024 season. Though Mumbai Indians and Hardik Pandya received massive criticism from the cricket experts and Rohit Sharma fans, the franchise stood strong in their decision.
In IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians managed to register only 4 victories in their 14 league games and become the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs race.
Moreover, Mumbai Indians are the only team to not reach a double-digit points tally this season. With only four victories, the five-time IPL title winners ended up at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.
After being eliminated from the tournament, Mumbai was expected to make a consolation victory in their last league game but LSG scattered their dream and handed them an 18-run defeat on May 17.
In a video shared by the Mumbai Indians on social media, Mrs Ambani spoke about the manner in which the current season ended for the side, not just as an owner but also as a fan.
“Disappointing season for all of us. Things didn’t go the way we wanted them to, but I’m still a huge Mumbai Indians fan. Not just an owner. I think to wear the Mumbai Indians jersey is a huge honour and a privilege, and to be associated with Mumbai Indians, for me, is an honour and a privilege. I think we will go back, review and think about it,” Ambani said.

Mrs. Ambani also had a message for the Indian quartet of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah who will now start preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024 as part of the Indian squad.
“To Rohit, Hardik, Surya (Suryakumar Yadav) and (Jasprit) Bumrah, I think, all Indians are cheering for you. We wish you all the best,” she added.
