CSA has named a 15-member South Africa squad for Bangladesh tests led by Temba Bavuma starting in the second half of October.
South Africa has seeked the assistance of spinner Senuran Muthusamy who will be returning to the squad after a year and will be part of the spin department which includes Keshav Maharaja and Dane Piedt.
The 30-year-old has played three tests with his last test coming from March 2023. Matthew Breetzke is the only uncapped player in the test squad. Bavuma will be leading the squad for the two-match test series which is a part of the WTC series.
“Bangladesh is always a tough place to tour,” Test head coach Shukri Conrad said.
“They’ve become a formidable side at home and we have to be prepared for the challenge that awaits us. We have therefore chosen a squad for the conditions we are expecting to greet us when we get there.

“We have three frontline spinners and all of them have the ability to step up at any time they are needed. This is a great chance for someone like Senuran, who has the potential to make a mark with both bat and ball. We are really looking forward to seeing what he can offer.
“Overall, we trust the depth and versatility in our squad to meet this challenge head-on.”
South Africa has played six matches in the ongoing WTC cycle and has six more tests. They have secured sixth position on the WTC points table, having two wins, three losses and one draw.
The first match of the Bangladesh tests will begin on October 21 at Shere-e-Bangla.
