Ahead of the much-awaited start of the Major League Cricket 2023, Washington Freedom have named Tanveer Sangha as the replacement player for Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga.
Tanveer join as Hasaranga’s Replacement in MLC 2023
Washington Freedom roped in Wanindu Hasaranga during the MLC 2023 drafting process. But ahead of the season start, Washington Freedom named Tanveer Sangha as Hasaranga’s replacement in MLC 2023 who withdrew from the tournament to manage workloads.
As per MLC 2023 schedule, Washington Freedom will play their first game against Seattle Orcas on July 14 in Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.

Who is Tanveer Sangha?
Tanveer Sangha is an Australian cricketer who plays for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League (BBL). The right-arm leg spinner was Australia’s leading wicket-taker at the 2020 U19 Cricket World Cup, claiming 15 wickets.
- Tanveer Sangha made his T20 debut on 12 December 2020 for Sydney Thunder in BBL 2020-21.
- Sangha was named in Australia’s T20I squad for their series against New Zealand in January 2021.
- On 27 October 2021, Tanveer Sangha made his first-class debut for New South Wales in the 2021–22 Sheffield Shield season.
- On 24 November 2021, Tanveer made his List A debut for New South Wales in the 2021–22 Marsh One-Day Cup.
