Following the glorious victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, team India is set to take part in an open bus roadshow in Mumbai at 5 PM IST today. Team India, struck in Barbados due to bad weather conditions, landed in Delhi today in a specially arranged charter flight five days after winning the Trophy.
Rohit Sharma and Co. trashed South Africa by 7 runs in the final and won the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, ending an 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. Following the historic achievement, BCCI decided to conduct a roadshow for the fans to witness the trophy and the team which achieved it.
The last time a parade of this magnitude took place was back in 2007 when MS Dhoni led India to their first T20 World Cup title.
But before the roadshow, team India will attend a breakfast hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 9 am at his residence. Following that, team India will take a ride on an open-top bus in a parade from the National Centre for Performing Arts in Nariman Point to the iconic Wankhede Stadium in the evening at 5 PM.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah has argued the fans to be present for the historic event in Mumbai.
