“Been Doing Well” T Dilip Lauds Indian Players on Improved Team’s Efforts on Field

India’s fielding coach T Dilip has praised four players including Yashasvi Jaiswal who have significantly raised India’s fielding standards after the side’s stunning victory in the first test against Bangladesh.

The Chennai test witnessed Indian players showcasing their fielding skills under challenging conditions. With the high temperature and humidity in Chennai, the players maintained high energy and sharp reflexes throughout the match.

They also impressed the coaching staff and spectators alike. Dilip has identified four players who particularly had been impressive on the field.

He named Yashasvi Jaiswal who took two catches taking out Zakir Hasan on Bumrah’s bowling in the second innings. He also went for a sharp low catch sending Shakib Al Hasan to the pavilion.

“Jaiswal has shown impressive athleticism and quick reflexes throughout the series. The coaching staff was impressed by his excellent catch at gully and a lovely catch at short leg.”

“It is tough for me to really mention it openly but as of now it is very evident that Yashasvi Jaiswal with that brilliant catch at gully and a lovely catch at short leg made himself really pushing that spot,” said Dilip.

He also praised Virat Kohli and KL Rahul for showing brilliant performances on the field. Both batters have been stationed in the slip cordon and mid-region respectively.

Specifically while speaking about Kohli, Dilip said that the senior player shows intensity in the game as well as in the practice games. He stated that Kohli sets him apart from others when it comes to athletics and inspires teammates to match the intensity with Kohli.

“Rahul has been doing well in fielding, especially with his quick catch at mid-on, which showed his fast reflexes. The other thing I liked about KL Rahul’s catch at mid-on was he showed great reflexes,” he added.

“Kohli’s fielding is always a highlight, and his intensity and commitment to the game are evident in his fielding. He practices with the same intensity as he plays, setting a great example for his teammates.”

“With Virat Kohli, you won’t find any differences between the way he practices and the way he fields. The intensity which he replicates in the match is the same in the practice session,” he further added.

India’s pacer Mohammed Siraj had challenges in Chennai apart from being more prone to injuries. He lauded how the pacer threw himself around in the field despite being a fast bowler and having to bowl longer spells every now and then.

“Siraj has shown impressive dedication to fielding, especially in the challenging conditions in Chennai. He is willing to dive and make difficult catches, demonstrating his strong commitment.”

“These are execution wise but when it comes to effort, especially in the Chennai weather, putting those dives was Siraj. For a fast bowler to do that is really commendable,” he concluded.

The second and final test against Bangladesh will be played between September 27 and October 01 at Green Park.
