Annabel Sutherland smashed her second consecutive century as the visitors secured a win in Australia women’s tour of New Zealand 2024.
Sutherland continued her peak performance with the bat registering her second consecutive ODI century against New Zealand in Wellington. Sutherland scored a match-winning ton against India last week after an unbeaten 105 runs off 81 balls.
After getting a lifeline for 67 runs in the 48th over, he hit 33 runs from the next 11 balls she faced to bring up a 78 ball century. The batter entered the crease with Australia 3/107 in the 22nd over, and the tourists’ position became even trickier two overs later when Beth Mooney fell for 14, leaving them 4/110.
Annabel Sutherland then shared a crucial 50-run partnership with Ashleigh Gardner (19) and Tahlia McGrath (34) bringing up her half century from 55 deliveries in the 42nd over.

Molly Penfold attempted to dismiss Sutherland but New Zealand pay for it, smashing two massive sixers off Eden Carson as 19 runs came off the 48th.
Annabel is also the second test youngest Australian to score three ODI centuries behind former captain Meg Lanning.
“It was actually tricky, I couldn’t quite get my timing … I was just trying to work with my partner up the other end,” Sutherland said on broadcast following her innings.
“Had a few 50-run partnerships which was nice and it was good to get a decent total on a tricky batting wicket.

Annabel brought up triple figures from the first ball of the 50th over and in doing so, became the first womam to hit consecutive ODI centuries batting at no.5 or lower.
Australia Women leads the series 1-0 and will be playing the third match on December 23 at Basin Reserve.
