    Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav who missed Mumbai’s first three games of the season made his return to the cash-rich league in MI vs DC clash scheduled to be played on April 7 in Wankhede Stadium.

    Suryakumar Yadav suffered from a grade 2 tear of his ankle injury and later he underwent surgery for a sports hernia and was in NCA to complete his rehabilitation process.

    Due to the injury, he missed Afghanistan’s tour of India 2024 T20I series which was the last T20I schedule for India before the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

    The No.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav has cleared his fitness test at NCA and joined the MI Camp on April 05. He made his last appearance in competitive cricket in December 2023 during the third T20I match of India’s tour of South Africa.

    Under the new captain, Mumbai Indians made a worst start by losing the first three games they played so far.

    Suryakumar Yadavwho missed the first three matches of the Mumbai Indians was included in their clash against Delhi Capitals and was expected to make an impact with the bat in the middle order.

    But the right-hander turned down the expectations after Nortje dismissed SKY for a duck in his maiden appearance of the season.

    Speaking on the match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first where Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the inning for Mumbai. The duo made an aggressive start by scoring 80 runs for the first wicket.

    Axar Patel broke the well-settled partnership by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 49 runs in the final delivery of the 7th over. In the very next over, Nortje dismissed Suryakumar Yadav for duck and loads pressure over the Mumbai batters.

    Ishan Kishan who made some aggressive shots failed to withstand Axar’s spin attack and was dismissed for 42 runs while Mumbai scored 111 runs in 10.2 overs.

    Following Kishan’s dismissal, Tilak Varma who was expected to make a stand with Hardik Pandya returned to the pavilion after scoring just 6 runs. At the end of 13 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 123 runs for 4 wickets loss.
