Indian cricketers Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh have engaged in a funny exchange on their Instagram story regarding the New T20I captain’s bat ahead of the Sri Lanka tour.
SKY and Rinku Singh shared a photograph on their Instagram account. Notably, Suryakumar shared a picture with Rinku on his Instagram story mentioning his iconic phrase ‘God’s Plan.’ He further wrote ‘Theek Hai bat le lena’ taking a funny dig at Rinku.
Responding to the post, Rinku Singh reshared Surykumar’s story on his Instagram saying ‘De do bhaiya bat’. Earlier the youngster was gifted a bat by iconic batting star Virat Kohli which was broken and was later seen pleading with him to give him another one. Both the players recalled that incident in their hilarious exchange.
Meanwhile, after much speculation on the T20I captaincy, BCCI designated Suryakumar Yadav for the role. He was picked ahead of Hardik Pandya who was expected to be Rohit’s successor in T20I captaincy.
But, Citing Pandy’s fitness issues, Suryakumar was set to lead the side on a short format. The Mumbai-born batter has led the side on seven occasions and won five times, while Hardik Pandya captained the side in 16 matches in T20Is and had led the side to win on 10 occasions.
BCCI has shared a video of Team India gearing up for the three-match T20I series beginning on Saturday. After the completion of the T20I leg, the Rohit Sharma-led ODi squad will lock horns with Sri Lanka in an ODI series starting on August 02.
This will be the first assignment of Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of India. Gambhir has replaced Rahul Dravid after his tenure came to an end on T20 World Cup triumph.
