‘Boom Boom Bumrah once again’ Suresh Raina’s hilarious comment ahead of Australia ODI series

Former India cricketer Suresh Raina believes that pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is about to reach his best form after returning to International cricket.

With only less than 15 days before World Cup 2023, India is preparing for the marquee event. The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah made his return to the side for the three-match ODI series against Ireland where he led the team for series victory. He made an impressive comeback as he dismissed two wickets in the beginning over during the first ODI match.

Suresh Raina said he made improvements to his bowling after recovering from injuries. He was part of India’s Asia Cup squad 2023 where India won the series recording its eighth win in the tournament.

“He has just bowled about 5 or 6 overs till now. Rohit Sharma is with him and monitoring how effective he can be with the new ball. If we want to dismiss Australia’s top order, we have Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah for that,” Raina told media.

“The line and speed with which he’s bowling, it’s swinging fully round the wicket. Even in his run-up, you can see, he has increased it a little bit, but the swing in his finishing line is praiseworthy.”

“He’s worked very hard especially with his injuries to his back and knee, after his run-up, the extra four or five yards he’s getting for recovery, his speed and swing have come back. The quickness he’s gotten with the length of his deliveries is very important.”

He picked up four wickets in three innings at an impressive average of 17.75 and an economy rate of 4.18. Suresh Raina stated Australia’s batting lineup will aim to break through Jasprit Bumrah’s overs with the new ball.

“Australia’s batting lineup is strong, but they’ll prioritize eating up Bumrah’s overs because he maintains his pace of 140-145. We can see that he has worked really hard and is enjoying it. It looks like he’s about to become ‘Boom Boom Bumrah’ once again,” Raina concluded.

He strongly believes that Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav will be India’s trump cards in the World Cup. Apart from bowling, he highlights the importance of the top-order batsmen, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli who will likely to increase the chances in the World Cup.

India is set to play in the first ODI match against Australia on September 22 at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. After completing their ODI series, India will be playing warmup games against England at Barsapara Stadium and the Netherlands on October 3 at Greenfield Stadium.
