England skipper Ben Stokes and Harry Brook who were at the crease at the end of Day 2 are excepted to move England’s scoreboard towards a positive side. Australia was expected to struggle on the remainder of the 2nd Test as they were without their prime spinner Nathan Lyon.

But Starc’s aggressive start adds pressure over the England batting line. Starc who opened Day 3 on behalf of Australian bowlers, places no slip for Stokes and Harry Brook.

Brook who faced the first delivery from Starc missed the flick and scored a single. Stokes on the next delivery, looks to work leg-side and gets a thick leading edge to the right of Green at the gully.

Starc played a huge role in Australia’s winning WTC 2023 final against India. Starc dismissed Virat Kohli in the 1st inning and dismissed Rahane in the second inning of the WTC 2023 final game in the Oval.

As far as the match is concerned, winning the toss, England opted to bowl first where opening batters David Warner and Usman Khawaja made a 73-run stand for the first wicket.

Josh Tongue broke the partnership by dismissing Usman Khawaja for 17 runs. David Warner who scored his 35th Test fifty lost his wicket to Josh Tongue. On the other hand, Australia’s star player Steven Smith scored his 32nd Test century and pushed Australia’s score to a safer side.
