The Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have officially confirmed the fixtures for India’s tour of South Africa 2024, featuring four T20I matches.
South Africa to host India in T20I Series
India and South Africa are set to engage in a bilateral T20I series in recent years with three of the last five series between the teams have ended in a draw while India secured victory in the other two.
South Africa secured a series win against India in 2015. However, the Proteas men secured a victory against India during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Last year, the Men in Blues played in the South Africa tour of India 2023-24 where the T20I series resulted in a tie while the visitors won the ODI series 2-1. The two test series resulted in a tie.

While sharing his thoughts about the series, the CSA chairperson Lawson Naidoo said, “I would like to thank the BCCI for their continued support of South Africa’s cricket, and world cricket in general. Any tour by the Indian cricket team to our shores is filled with amazing camaraderie and exciting cricket, and I know our fans will be eagerly awaiting this series which will showcase the exceptional talent from both teams.”
Meanwhile, Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, emphasized India’s strong cricketing relationship with South Africa.
“India and South Africa have always shared a deep and strong bond, one that both nations take great pride in. The Indian Cricket Team has consistently received immense appreciation and love from South African fans, and this sentiment is equally strong among Indian fans towards the South African side.
“I am confident that the upcoming series will once again highlight the on-field cricketing excellence and deliver enthralling, high-intensity contests,” he stated.
Recently, BCCI has confirmed India’s schedule for the 2024-25 home season, including test series against Bangladesh, and New Zealand, and their tour of Australia for the Border Gavaskar series.
