Australian bowler Sophie Molineux has been ruled out of the upcoming Women’s Premier League 2025 with a knee injury.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained Sophie Molineux ahead of the WPL 2025 auction but following her unavailability, defending champions have named English offspinner Charlie Dean as the replacement.
In WPL 2024, Molineux played a key role in the team’s success by bagging 12 wickets in 10 games and also finished as the third-highest wicket-taker in the competition.
It is worth mentioning, that Sophie Molineux also captained Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash 2024 season and guided the team to lift their maiden title with 16 wickets in the seven games.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have signed the England allrounder Charlie Dean for INR 30 Lakh. Dean represents England in international cricket and has played 36 T20Is, in addition to 3 Tests and 39 ODIs.
The off-spinner was also part of the winning London Spirit team in the Women’s Hundred last year where she picked up seven wickets in the 10 games. She was recently named the Player of the series in the ODI series against South Africa which concluded last month having scalped seven wickets across three ODIs.
