SL vs IND 2nd ODI probable playing 11: After the first ODI of the India tour of Sri Lanka 2024 resulted in a “tie” the curiosity for the second game of the three-match ODI series keeps moving in an uptrend.
Under the new coaching set-up, India was expected to kickstart their ODI journey with flying colours of T20I format but Sri Lankan’s aggressive bowling attack scattered the hopes.
Indian cricket team will inspect their flaw in the first ODI and will try to correct the minor errors in the second game while Sri Lanka who executed an outstanding performance will try to continue their momentum in the second ODI.
Ahead of the game, the host Sri Lanka has been struck with another tragedy as their prime spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the ODI series with a hamstring injury.
In the first ODI vs India, W Hasaranga scored 24 runs off 35 balls assisting Dunith Wellalage in Sri Lanka’s fightback with the bat and bagged three wickets for 58 runs in his allotted 10 overs. His three wickets include the dismissal of Virat Kohli(24) and KL Rahul(31).
SLC named 34-year-old legspinner Jeffrey Vandersay as Hasaranga’s replacement for the final two ODIs. With Mohamed Shiraz not having much of a role to play in the first ODI, the hosts could be tempted to replace him with a fourth frontline spinner on a track expected to aid the tweakers.
The second game of the series will begin at 2:30 PM IST, Local/09:00 AM GMT, with the toss 30 minutes earlier.
