The Indian star Shubman Gill is likely to miss the highly anticipated IND-PAK clash in the World Cup 2023 due to his illness.

Shubman Gill has been suffering from illness since India’s travel to Chennai after the warmup games. After being diagnosed with dengue, he was ruled out of the opening match.
On this occasion, a source has revealed that he’ll be missing the highly anticipated clash against Pakistan due to the platelet count dropping below 1,00,000. He was under observation in the hospital but has returned to his hotel for rest and recovery.
He didn’t travel to Delhi for India’s next match and with a two-day gap for the IND-PAK clash in Narendra Modi Stadium. He is expected to rejoin the team once he receives clearance from his doctors. He has been responding well to the treatment and has shown improvement in health.
“Gill’s platelet count dropped below 1,00,000 and he was hospitalized a day before – October 8 – for observation purposes. Nothing alarming there as he is already back in the hotel on October 9 and continues to receive treatment there. Ever since he has landed in Chennai, all his treatment – from a regular dose of glucose and other procedures – has been happening in hotel only,” a source reported.
