The BPL franchise Fortune Barishal has terminated the contract of the all-rounder Shoaib Malik on suspicion of fixing Allegations.
Shoaib Malik’s BPL Contract terminated
The Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has been suspected of match-fixing during the BPL 2024 match between Fortune Barishal and Khulna Riders at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on January 22.
During the match, the Barishal skipper Tamim Iqbal decided to bring Shoaib Malik as a bowler in the powerplay. But surprisingly he bowled three no-balls in the over and conceded 18 runs.
This over has created a suspicion on the Pakistan all-rounder. Shoaib Malik who married Sana Javed recently has been subjected to trolling on social media due to his weak performance.
After the match, the owner of Fortune Barishal Mizanu Rahman terminated the allrounder Shoaib Malik’s contract on suspicion of fixing. Malik will no longer be part of the league.
The veteran all-rounder has played in 35 Tests, 287 one-day internationals, and 116 T20 internationals for his country.
Barishal has played three matches in the tournament which concluded with one win and two defeats. They are placed in the second last of the points table of the tournament.
Fortune Barishal will be playing their next match against Chattogram Challengers on January 27 at Sylhet International Stadium.
