Shivam Dube to Join India Squad for For England T20Is

The all-rounder Shivam Dube is set to join India’s squad for the ongoing five-match T20I series against England.

Dube has been part of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy game against Jammu & Kashmir and will be joining the team in Rajkot. He has been called in as a cover for Nitish Kumar Reddy who is yet to recover from an injury he picked earlier.

Nitish Kumar was part of the playing 11 in the first T20I of England’s tour of India 2025. However, he did not bowl or come to bat.

Meanwhile, Shivam Dube had a disappointing outing, recording ducking in both innings against J&K. The all-rounder was originally not picked in the squad for the T20I series against England as selectors opted to go withing Nitish Kumar Reddy and Hardik Pandya.

Dube has recovered from his back injury which ruled him out of the initial phase of the Ranji Trophy. He made his comeback into the Mumbai lineup for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which Mumbai eventually won under Shreyas Iyer‘s leadership.

Shivam Dube was a part of India’s T20 World Cup winning squad in 2024. He scored 133 runs with the bat in the tournament including a 27-run knock in the final against South Africa.

His last T20I appearance was in July 2024, as he played the match against Sri Lanka.

Returning to the ongoing series between India and England, the hosts won the first T20I be seven wickets. Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy were the major stars as India won the contest quite comprehensively.

India secured a 1-0 lead after a seven wicket win in the five match T20I series. The second match of the T20I series will be played on January 25 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
