Indian allrounder Shivam Dube bagged his maiden ODI wicket by dismissing Kusal Mendis for 14 runs in the 1st ODI of the India tour of Sri Lanka 2024.
The right-arm medium bowler Shivam Dube made his ODI debut for India on 15 December 2019 in a match against West Indies at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Nearly after 55 months Dube was again roped in the Indian ODI lineup for the 1st ODI between Sri Lanka and India played on August 2 in Colombo.
Unlike his maiden game, Dube utilised this opportunity and made an impressive performance by bagging his maiden ODI wicket.
After bowling two overs, Shivam Dube bowled the 14th over of the first inning where he dismissed Kusal Mendis for 14 via LBW in the very first delivery and opened his account in the ODI format.
Interestingly, Dube made his appeal slightly after KL Rahul started appealing from behind the stumps. After being given OUT, Kusal Mendis decided to take a review against the umpire’s decision but lost the review.
