Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has created a ruckus after slapping a fan. The Bangladesh captain was known for his temper and had created many controversial situations by confronting umpires and expressing frustration by kicking stumps.

This time he created a controversial moment after hitting a fan before winning the parliament elections.

In the video, Shakib accidentally pushed a fan which led to an angered response as he swiftly delivered a tight slap to the individual’s face. Sources have confirmed that the incident occurred at a polling booth where Shakib had arrived to cast his vote.

Although the video does not provide a clear view of what prompted Shakib’s reaction, it highlights the intensity of the situation as he was mobbed by people.

The video does not have the details of the fan’s actions that angered Shakib remains unclear from the footage, it is clear that Player has to assert control over the situation.

Two days ago, a viral video captured Shakib seated on a stage as fans approached him for selfies. While he accepted their requests, there was a lack of enthusiasm on his face, suggesting that he may not have been too pleased with the constant selfie interruptions.

Shakiba secured a parliament seat in an election where he made a victory. The 36-year-old allrounder has triumphed over his competitor with an astonishing lead of 1,50,000 in the Magura Constituency as confirmed by Abu Naser Beg, the district’s chief administrator.

He was the candidate from the ruling Awami League party, and his success was anticipated especially with the main opposition, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) choosing to boycott the election.

It is expected that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will secure a fifth term in power. Shakib acknowledged the absence of serious obstacles but admitted that he had felt anxious about the competition.

He emphasized the perpetual challenges, likening them to those faced in cricket, regardless of the team’s size.

“The competition and challenges are always there, be it a small team or big team,” he remarked.

The player has temporarily stepped away from cricket as he is concerned about his ability to balance both roles. He was questioned about skipping his cricket career and he queried back “Did I retire? If I haven’t retired, then where does this question come from?”

Shakib’s excellence extends beyond politics, as he is the only individual to concurrently hold the number one all-rounder ranking in all three cricket formats.

His journey began after he joined the country’s premier sports academy when he made his debut in an international career at the age of 19 as a batting allrounder in the year 2006.

In 2007, he smashed a fifty against India in the World Cup, where Bangladesh had a victory. Shakib has a good reputation for occasional ill-discipline which marked a controversial moment after threatening a spectator with a bat which earned him a three-match ban.

He made his last appearance on the 38th match of the World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka where he scored 82 runs and dismissed two batters through his bowling.

Bangladesh will be playing their next match against Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 08 at Grand Prairie Stadium.
