Selectors made Changes in Karnataka Ranji Trophy squad for Tripura Games

After an underwhelming performance against Gujarat and Goa, Karnataka selectors have made changes in the squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024 match against Tripura.

The Karnataka selectors had made changes in the squad for the games against Tripura and Railways, where dropping left-arm spinner Shubhang Hegde for 17-year-old Hardik in a like-for-like replacement.

Shubhang has bagged only six wickets in three matches and was suspended during the attack in the first innings against Goa for bowling.

Hardik, a bowling all-rounder Hardik who performed for Karnataka’s maiden Cooch Behar U-19 trophy Triumph, bagged 28 wickets from eight games. He also scored a century in the semifinals where they won against Tamil Nadu.

K.V. Aneesh, another uncapped Player, will replace the Injured Manish Pandey. He has scored two centuries in two matches in the ongoing Nayudu U-23 Trophy.

On the other hand, the injured Prasidh Krishna will be replaced by Abhilash Shetty. The chairman of selectors Abhiram said, “We have a very talented U-19 and U-23 bunch and we are not bothered about bench strength.”

“It’s a transition period for us and we are looking at developing a squad for the next five to six years.”

Karnataka will be playing against Tripura on January 26 at Maharaja Bir Bikram Stadium.
