    Saurabh Tiwary to retire from cricket after Keenan Stadium Ranji match

    The Southpaw is set to retire from cricket after playing his last match in Jamshedpur against Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy 2024.

    Saurabh Tiwary to retire from cricket

    The middle-order batter and a prominent batsman Saurabh Tiwary will retire from cricket on February 2024. He will play his last match in the Ranji Trophy encounter between Jharkhand and Rajasthan starting on February 16.

    Saurabh Tiwary played for the Jharkhand Ranji Team for the past 17 years before he announced his retirement. He conveyed his retirement plan to the Jharkhand State Cricket Association.

    Tiwary kickstarted his cricket journey in Jamshedpur when played in junior cricket in the U-14s. He gained a call-up for the international side as a member of the Indian Under-19 team, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli where India won the 2008 World Cup in the U-19 category.

    Tiwary started his Ranji Career in 2006, has displayed an impressive performance, and has amassed a total of 7872 runs Jharkhand in first-class cricket.

    By this feat, he stands top in the list of most runs scored for the region, and surpassed even the legendary captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He smashed 21 centuries in 184 innings in first-class cricket with a high score of 238 runs.

    On the other hand, the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has amassed 7038 runs in first-class cricket and stands behind Tiwary in the record.

    He played three ODIs for the national side and scored 49 runs for India. Saurabh has an impressive performance in his IPL career. He has played 93 matches in the domestic career and amassed 1494 runs which includes 8 half centuries.

    Tiwary became popular through his impressive IPL performance when he began his career with Mumbai Indians in the inaugural season of the cash-rich league.

    He was guided by the Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar while playing for Mumbai Indians. During the 2011 season, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 7.36 crore.

    His will be spoken through his contribution and achievements in various formats of the game. Jharkhand will be playing their first match against Saurashtra on January 05 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
