England limited-overs batsman Sam Billings was trolled by his girlfriend after he went unsold in the first round of IPL auction 2021.

The first round of the IPL 2021 auction saw plenty of eye-catching moments as Morris, Jhye Richardson (14 cr to Punjab Kings) and Nathan Coulter Nile (5 cr to Mumbai Indians) were some of the bowlers who created a buzz.
Soon after Billing went unsold in the first round, he took to Twitter to write, “My girlfriend Sarah just turns to me and goes… ‘why aren’t you a bowler?’”

Billings, who has so far featured in 22 IPL matches, eventually found a bidder as Delhi Capitals (DC) bought him for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
Welcoming Billings to the squad, DC tweeted, “They’re Billing(s) Sam to DC, and we couldn’t be happier to pay those ₹ 2 Cr.”
Expressing his excitement after reuniting with his old franchise, Billings tweeted, “Back to where my @IPL journey began! Can’t wait to join up with the @DelhiCapitals #YehHaiNayiDilli,” he wrote.
“It’s great to be back with Delhi Capitals – that’s where my IPL journey started, spent two amazing years there. This is a squad which speaks for itself, young Indian talents – Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, to be back in the same team with those guys is incredibly exciting. Two of my good mates in Chris Woakes and Tom Curran, fellow countrymen, to join with those guys should be great. Not to mention, Ricky Ponting, heard a lot of very good things about working with him. Really looking forward to stepping up my game with a coach like that. It’s great to be back in Delhi, it’s great to be back in the IPL and I am really looking forward to it,” Billings said in a video shared by Delhi Capitals.
ICC Replied to Sam Billing’s Tweet
After Billings tweeted, the official account of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Twitter replied to the tweet. In that tweet, ICC shared the bowling stats of Sam Billings. In that image, it was seen that Billings who generally keeps wickets has almost never bowled in an official match. It was seen that he bowled only once in a first-class match, where he bowled one ball and was hit for a boundary.
