    Saim Ayub Smashes Maiden ODI Century During Zimbabwe ODIs

    Saim Ayub’s century has helped the visitors to secure a 10-wicket victory during the second ODI for Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe 2024.

    Opening the batting for Pakistan, Ayub tormented Zimbabwe’s formidable bowling attack compiling a breezy fifty and scripting Pakistan’s remarkable comeback in the series.

    The left handed hammer the Zimbabwean bowler all around the par, scripting history with a blistering century.

    Saim who failed in the first ODI, regained his mojo in style, hammering sixteen fours and three sixes for his memorable ton.

    He completed his first ODI hundred in 53 balls, equalling Shahid Afridi’s record for the third fastest ODI century for Pakistan.

    Shahid Afridi has recorded the three fastest ODI tons for Pakistan, becomes the joint third fastest ODI centurion for Pakistan having attained the landmark in 53 balls.

    Chasing a modest target of 146 runs, Pakistan opener Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique achieved the target in 19th over.

    The hosts were bowled out for 145 runs in 32.3 overs. Abrar Ahmed took 4 wickets for Pakistan.

    Saim Ayub was named as the Player of the match. While speaking in the post match conference, We already forgot the 1st game and we will forget this game as well, will focus on the present and think about one day at a time.”

    “The wicket in the first game was stoppy and the weather also changed. Today also it was slower and stoppy, I had to be careful as I could not play all the shots. We practice for all types of wickets not just for slow wickets,” he concluded.

    The third match of the ODI series will be played on November 28 at Queens Sports Club.
