Mumbai Indians’ former captain Rohit Sharma’s controversial chat with KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar spread like wildfire on social media and forced KKR to remove it.
The short chat caused huge destruction and questions about the unity of the Mumbai Indians’ camp following the captaincy change. Ahead of the IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians traded Hardik Pandya and named him as the captain of the team.
Replacing their five times title-winning captain Rohit Sharma received massive criticism from the cricket community. Mumbai Indians’ performance this season was not up to mark and moreover, MI became the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race.
Under Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians were expected to make an extraordinary performance but things got worse than before.
Many rumours regarding the split in the Mumbai Indians’ camp were spread across social media without any proper evidence. But Rohit’s recent chat exposed the truth behind the rumours.
Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Nayar had a friendly chat during the practice session which was captured and released by the KKR. The video went viral in a very short period of time as Rohit was seen expressing his displeasure over the captaincy change.
“Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai…Woh unke upar hai…Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai(Everything is changing one by one… It’s on them… Whatever, but it’s my home brother, it’s the temple that I constructed).”
The last line that could be heard in the video was: “Bhai mera kya mera to ye last hai (brother, this is my last anyway)”.
Clear audio of Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Nayar’s conversation, he didn’t said that it’s his last IPL.
Please don’t make any conclusions on half said words.🙏pic.twitter.com/9lbtZRQvQB

Last line – “Bhai mera kya mera to ye last hai” And now KKR deleted that chatting video of Rohit Sharma and Nayar

Apart from the rumours, the bond between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya was not as good as expected this season. The relationship between them was exposed by their on and off-field chats.
Many cricket experts fear that Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya’s unfriendly relationship might cause some serious issues for the Indian camp during the T20 World Cup 2024 set to play within a month.
Moreover, Rohit and Hardik have been named as the captain and vice-captain of the India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Even Aaron Finch gave a piece of advice to Rohit Sharma to end this rumour.
“Just the one thing that I would have loved to have seen from Rohit throughout the IPL campaign is to make some kind of public statement because the resentment towards Hardik from the public has been unbelievable – getting booed. And it’s changed to cheers when he walks out since the World Cup squad has been announced,” Finch said on Around the Wicket.
Mumbai Indians who already lost the playoffs qualification race will face Kolkata Knight riders to play the 60th match of the IPL 2024 today at Kolkata.
