The Indian captain Rohit Sharma reaches 200 sixes in the T20I internationals during the match against Australia at St Lucia. He became the first player to score 200 sixes in the t20s and took only 173 matches to achieve the feat.
Rohit Smashed four sixes in the previous over bowled by Mitchell Starc. The star batter reached the landmark from the first ball of the fifth over bowled by Pat Cummins in the Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Rohit continued to top the list of the most sixes by a player leading a comfortable margin with 173 sixes from Martin Guptil. India secured two out of two wins in the Super 8s and remains unbeaten in the ongoing 2024 edition.
A third win for India will substantially threaten Australia’s semi-final chances after an unexpected defeat against Afghanistan at St Vincent. If they lose the match against India they have to track the match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh for their chances in Semi finals.
Australia plays a must-win match against India after winning one out of two matches in the Super 8 stages. They won the match against Bangladesh but suffered a defeat against Afghanistan on Saturday clash.
