    Rohit Sharma Named as Captain of ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year

    Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, fast bowlers Arsdheep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah have been named in the ICC Men’s T20I team of the Year 2024.

    India’s highest run scorer in the 2024 T20 World Cup 2024 played a big role in the side’s title run in the Caribbean.

    Under his leadership, India won all T20Is played last year, and he also became the first captain in the world to win the T20 World Cup title with a 100% win record. He amassed 378 runs in 11 matches at an average of 42.00 and a strike rate of 140.

    England batter Phil Salt scored 467 runs in 17 matches on a high score of 103 runs at an average of 38.91 and a strike rate 164.43.

    Phil Salt, Babar Azam, Nicholas Pooran and Sikandar Raza will be filling the middle order slot. His impressive performance comes against West Indies smashing an unbeaten 87 runs in the T20 World Cup.

    All-rounder Hardik Pandya played 17 matches and scored 352 runs in addition to pick 16 wickets. The 31 year old has picked up three wicket for India in the T20 World Cup 2024 final played against South Africa, which was played at Kensington Oval, Barbados.

    Sikandar Raza scored 573 runs in 24 matches, with a highest score of 133 at a strike rate of 146.54. Sikandar’s 133* runs off 43 helped Zimbabwe to post highest ever T20I total against Gambia in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier clash.

    The all-rounder Hardika Pandya scored 352 runs in 17 matches and picked 16 wickets. He had an impressive campaign in T20 World Cup 2024 picking 11 wickets including India’s victory by defending 16 off the final over against Proteas in the final.

    Afghanistan’ Rashid Khan was again excellent in 2024, leading bowling attack. He claimed 31 wickets in just 14 matches, boasting an average of 9.58. He proved to be pivotal in Afghanistan’s success in the T20 World Cup.

    His consistency and match-winning ability cements his position as on of the leading all-rounders in the shortest format.

    Meanwhile Wanindu Hasaranga scored 179 runs in 20 matches picking 38 wickets with a best figures of 4/15. His ability to bowl economically in the powerplay and strike in the middle overs made him captain whenever Sri Lanka needed a breakthrough.

    Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, the India’s ace pacer took 15 wickets in eight matches at an average of 8.26. Bumrah’s consistency across formats reaffirmed his position as one of the premier fast bowlers in world cricket.

    He was also named as the nominee for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy as ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year.

    The fast bowler Arshdeep Singh had 36 wickets in 18 matches at an average of 13.50 and ranking him as the eightth-best T20I bowler in the World.

    His standout performance came in the T20 World Cup finishing with the second most wickets in the tournament with 17 scalps from eight games.

    His best with ball came against hosts USA in the T20 World Cup, where he dismantled them with a fiery 4/9 spell.
