The India skipper Rohit Sharma smashed his 11th Test century during the first innings of the third test on England’s tour of India 2024 at Niranjan Shah Stadium.

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had an impressive innings during the first innings of the third test against England at Rajkot Stadium.
Opting to bat, India had early blows as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rajat Patidar were dismissed by Mark Wood and Tom Hartley.
Rohit Sharma stood up to the name of captain and smashed a decisive century which became the 11th test century of the player. He scored 131 runs on 196 deliveries including 14 fours and 3 sixes.
With three dismissals, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja joined the partnership and helped the side to recover from 33/3 to 236/4.

India and England started their third test with one victory each. The hosts had major setbacks with lots of injury concerns ahead of the third Test.
The senior batter got to his hundred in the first over after the tea break in 157 balls. It is Rohit Sharma’s 3rd Test century as he equaled Kapil’s tally in the list of Indian captains with the most centuries in the longest format of the game.
Virat Kohli tops the list with 20 test centuries as captain. Rohit took blows to his body after dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.
Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Mark Wood on the 64th over of the innings. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has scored 90+ runs at the time of writing.
With losing four wickets, Jadeja and Sarfaraz Khan are at the crease while Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj are yet to bat.
Mark Wood dismissed three batters in the first innings while Tom Hartley picked up a wicket at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
