The Indian captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya were spotted training together in Mumbai. Both the players looked comfortable on Thursday night at Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai.
Hardik was spotted bowling to Rohit who faced a lot of criticism after suffering a 1-3 defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He amassed 31 runs in three matches against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy and dropped himself for the fifth test due to poor form.
Ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya are set to be picked in India’s squad for the ICC event, which will be played from February 19 to March 09.
In the eight-team ICC tournament, India will play its matches in Dubai. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to announce the squad which is making a comeback after eight years.
Rohit trained with Mumbai’s Ranji Team at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday and is uncertain whether he will take the field for Ajinkya Rahane-led side in the upcoming match in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Jammu & Kashmir.
Rohit Sharma who played his last Ranji Trophy match in 2015 is yet to confirm his availability for Mumbai’s next match.
On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal has made himself available for the upcoming match. He is all set to open for Mumbai in the must-win match.
Hardik Pandya is all set to join India’s T20I team in Kolkata to prepare for the upcoming five-match T20I series.
The 31-year-old cricketer from Baroda, who played for the Krunal Pandya-led side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and Vijay Hazare was named in the 15-member squad for the home series on January 11.
The first T20I between India and England is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on January 22 and the next four matches will be played on January 25, 28 and 31 and February 2 in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune and Mumbai respectively.
