Rohit set to break Sachin’s records in ODI Format
Undoubtedly, the Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma is one of the most terrific batters in world cricket. Having emerged as a true winner since his promotion as an opener, Rohit has won matches for India in achieving big milestones.
The Indian team is currently preparing for the West Indies tour ODI series, where Rohit Sharma is set to surpass all-time cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Ricky Ponting.
Rohit has currently scored 9825 runs in the 50-over format for India and is only 175 runs away from reaching 10,000 runs in ODI. Against the ODI series in West Indies, he will find himself in the second position to the number.
The List is led by Virat Kohli who had completed 10000 runs in ODI cricket in 205 innings. Rohit had played 236 innings in ODI cricket but will be not able to surpass Virat while he can be placed in the second spot.
Rohit has been a prolific run-scorer for India in ODIs, scoring at an average of 48.64. He has 30 centuries and 48 fifties to his name in the 50-over format for India. The veteran batter would be hoping to continue his good form with the bat this year, especially considering India is to play the World Cup at home.
The cricket fans and surroundings are waiting for Rohit’s historic moment, as he said to break records and create new milestones in his cricket playing career.
With his talent, determination, and hunger for success, there’s no doubt that Rohit Sharma will make a mark in cricket history, keeping head-to-head with the game’s greatest legends.
As the expectations build for his record-breaking performance, Rohit Sharma’s journey will be written as a legacy that will be celebrated for future generations and upcoming players.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have shared a partnership score of 4998 runs in the ODI format. The duo needs just two more runs to complete a partnership of 5,000 runs in the ODI format. With that, the batting pair will become the fastest pair to score 5000 ODI runs in the history of cricket.
Rohit and Virat have made this score in 85 ODIs as partners, which includes 15-century partnerships in ODIs, and 18 times more than fifty runs by these two players in ODIs.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli needs 102 runs to complete 13,000 runs in ODIs, which will make him the fifth batter and second from India after Sachin Tendulkar to reach this milestone.
Sachin Tendulkar (18,426) is the highest run-getter in the history of ODI cricket, followed by Kumar Sangakkara (14,234), Ricky Ponting (13,704), Sanath Jayasuriya (13,430) and Virat Kohli (12,898).
If Virat Kohli completes 13,000 ODI runs, he will break Sachin’s record (321 innings) by becoming the fastest batter to ever achieve this record where Virat Kohli has played only 265 innings in ODIs.
