Rizwan Throws Bat towards Babar Azam during Bangladesh Test

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam were on display on Day 02 of the first test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh on Thursday. They shared a heartfelt moment after Pakistan declared their innings after scoring 448/6.

Rizwan was the leading run scorer for Pakistan in the first innings slamming 171 runs on 239 deliveries. While he made his way back to the dressing room, Pakistan cricketers gathered around the boundary line to applaud his stunning knock.

On this occasion, Rizwan playfully threw his bat towards Babar who caught and laughed with the former.

Coming to the match, Rizwan’s stunning century guided Pakistan to impose a total of 448 for 6 wickets before Bangladesh closed the second day on 27 at Rawalpindi.

Pakistan struggled with early dismissals, having lost three wickets for 16 runs. Shafique, Shan Masood, and Babar lost their wickets. Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel posted half-centuries helping the side to recover from the dismissals.

Shakeel was unbeaten with 57 runs while the debutant Ayub scored 56 for his maiden fifty when they built a stand of 98 runs for the fourth wicket. Shakeel has amassed his 1000 test runs in the 11th test when he reached 33 runs. He further added 44 runs for the fifth wickets alongside Rizwan who remained unbeaten for 24 runs.

Shakeel marked his seventh half-century in the format. Meanwhile, Ayub’s innings came to an end in the second session of the day where he hit four boundaries and six before falling victim to Hasan Mahmud’s bowling.

Pakistan ended the day one with 158 runs for four wickets. Resuming on day 02, Saud Shakeel and Rizwan continued to bat posting a century each. They went on to score 141 and 171* runs respectively. Shaheen Afridi stood unbeaten along with Rizwan by the end of their innings.

Bangladesh scored 27 by the end of day 02. Resuming the match on day 03, Bangladesh’s Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque smashed half-centuries each to increase the score steadily at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
