The Indian wk-batter Rishabh Pant hit a stunning six during the first innings of the first test of the Border Gavaskar trophy which goes for his strokes in Test cricket.
Despite India losing six wickets with not even 150 runs on the board, Pant didn’t stop and hit a six on Pat Cummins on the 42nd over, the southpaw scooped a full-length delivery over deep backward squad for the maximum.
Wasim Akram who was part of the Commentary panel, couldn’t believe it when he saw a shot. He said that it was the first and probably the last time he saw that kind of shot in Perth.
Even Sanjay Manjrekar also heaped massive praise on the batter. “He is a genius and has already played four great innings in his Test career. Pant hasn’t been a part of 100 Tests, but he looks like one with the way he goes for his shots.”
“I know he won’t have an average of 60 when he retires from Test cricket, but he is going to finish as one of the greats of the game.
“He is the only one who can play that strokes. There is no way you can silence him, and he doesn’t get impacted by the situation. This is what makes him a big player,” told Manjrekar.
Coming to the match, India’s batting line up struggles once again as they lost all 10 wickets for 150 run with debutant Nitish reddy being the top scorer for India smashing 41 runs.
Rishabh Pant scored 37 runs while KL Rahul picked 26 runs on India’s first innings. Josh Hazlewood picked four wickets while Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh picked two wickets each at Perth Stadium.
