Delhi Capitals won the 32nd match of the IPL 2024 season after chasing 89 runs at Narendra Modi Stadium. Rishabh Pant was named the Player of the Match for his heroic wicket-keeping skills at Ahmedabad.
While Speaking at the post-match conference Rishabh Pant said, “Lots of things to be pleased about. We talked about the champion thought process and our team showed today that we can play like that and happy to see that.”
[on the bowling] “Definitely one of the best, it’s early on in the tournament, can’t say much as we can improve individually. The only thought process before coming onto the field was coming in a better way, that’s the only thought when I was going through my rehab.”
“The only conversation we had before the chase was – let’s get it as early as possible, we lost a few run-rate points earlier and we covered it up. We just love being in Ahmedabad, we love the stadium, and the vibe here, and looking forward to playing more matches here.”

Coming to the match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl, where their plot worked as per the plan making Gujarat all-out for 89 runs.
Batting first, Gujarat Openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha were sent out with 8 and 2 runs by Ishant and Mukesh Kumar respectively. With the dismissal of Sai Sudharsan on a run out for 12 runs, Gujarat’s top order collapsed and David Miller was sent out with 2 runs.
Gujarat Titans scored only 30 runs by the fall of the fourth wicket. Tristan Stubbs sent out Abhinav Manohar who scored 8 runs on the 9th over.
Gujarat Titans were all out for 89 runs at Ahmedabad where Tristan Stubbs, Mukesh Kumar, and Ishant Sharma picked wickets at regular intervals entirely collapsing Gujarat’s batting lineup.
Rashid Khan was the only scorer for Gujarat Titans as he scored 31 runs on 24 deliveries. Rishabh Pant’s plot on bowling setup helped the side to force Gujarat Titans all-out for a low score.
He was involved in the dismissals of David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Shahrukh Khan, and Rashid Khan. Shahrukh was sent out on a golden duck by Tristan Stubbs. Khaleel Ahmed and Axar Patel were the other wicket-takers for DC picking one wicket each. With Rashid Khan’s help, the Gujarat Titans scored 89 runs.
With the target of 90 runs, Delhi Capitals decided to play aggressive batting and planned to complete the match within 10 overs to raise the run rate. Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser scored 7 and 20 runs while Abhishek Porel and Shai Hope were sent out with 15 and 19 runs respectively. With Rishabh Pant’s 16 runs DC completed the match in 8.5 overs in Narendra Modi Stadium.
