The Indian player Rishabh Pant has been sidelined due to his severe injuries sustained in a car accident last year. Pant survived a brutal car crash on 30th December. He collided his car with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. He jumped out of his Mercedes at the last moment as the car went up on fire.

Rishabh Pant sustained multiple injuries in the accident and underwent knee surgery. Pant has been rested for recovery since then. With his recovery, fans are waiting for his return to the field.

With the big events set to be held back in late 2023, Rishabh Pant has seen batting on India’s Independence Day become viral. The event was organized by Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal’s company JSW.

After going through a horrific car crash in December last year, he was spotted batting for the first time. It is close to eight months and he has been going through a strict recovery process.

“Once you keep growing older, you stop loving the game. One of the reasons is that there is a lot of pressure; you want to excel in life and do this and that.

“But enjoyment nahi miss karna hein life mein, (Don’t miss enjoyment in life),” Pant said in a video shared by Sangita Jindal, chairperson of JSW Foundation.

Pant plays for Delhi Capital in the IPL and the team is co-owned by the JSW group. The BCCI issued a fitness update on Pant last month.

“He (Pant) has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets.

“He is currently following a fitness program designed for him which includes strength, flexibility, and running,” BCCI had said in a statement.

Last Week, Pant shared a video of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer batting in a warm-up game. It is expected that Pant will be missing out on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup. Ishan Kishan is likely to be the second choice for wicketkeeping for the team if Rahul gets fit before the Asia Cup.

The 25-year-old has played in 33 Tests, 30 ODIs and 66 T20I matches for India scoring six hundreds in his international career. Ishant Sharma also gives an update about the player’s return saying that he would miss next year’s IPL as well.

“I feel we might not see Rishabh Pant in the next IPL as well because it is not a small injury. It was a very serious accident. He has just started batting and wicketkeeping, and to run and turn after that, there are a lot of things, which are not easy for a wicketkeeper and a batter,” said Ishant Sharma.
