Kolkata Knight Riders’ Rinku Singh who showcased an extraordinary performance in the KKR’s last game against Gujarat Titans finally opens up on his match-winning knock.
KKR were scheduled to play their third game of the season against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Rinku Singh Opens On His Match Winning Knock
With 29 required off the last over, it was all over for KKR but Rinku had other ideas. Talking about his blistering knock, the KKR left-hander said that the idea was to keep hitting and he didn’t even bother to look at the scorecard till the last 2 balls of the innings.
“I’ve come back to my normal routine but will never forget it. I wasn’t thinking anything during the last over. I didn’t even know till the last 2 balls how many runs were needed. I just kept hitting. It feels good to have won the match for my team,” said the 25-year-old in an exclusive chat with the media.
Recalling his days when he used to work as a sweeper, Rinku revealed that he was destined to achieve what he did, adding that he hardly got any support at home.
“I almost took up a job as a sweeper but destiny had other plans. I had no support from home but somehow I’m here,” he added.
“It felt great when so many greats were messaging me about my game. It really felt great. I just want the fans to keep supporting me and my team for the rest of the season,” the KKR left-hander further went on to add.
Talking about his inspiration, Rinku said that he looks up to former India left-hander and CSK star Suresh Raina, who hailed the 25-year-old on Twitter for his unbelievable performance.
“Suresh Raina is my inspiration and I look up to him a lot,” he revealed.
