Chennai Super Kings allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was given OUT for obstructing the field while running between the wickets during the CSK vs RR clash on Sunday.
The incident took place during the 16th over of the second innings where CSK was assigned to chase the target of 142 runs.
In the fifth delivery of the 16th over, Jadeja redirected the delivery to the third man and attempted to make a couple of runs by running between the wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad on the other end accepted the mission and made a decent first run but avoided the second run while Jadeja on the other end was halfway down the pitch.
The third man threw the ball to the wicketkeeper Sanju Samson who in turn threw the ball towards the non-striker end but Ravindra Jadeja who made a U-Turn obstructed the ball and prevented it from reaching the stumps.
Following the umpire review, the third umpire confirmed that Jadeja was watching the ball, aware of where it was heading, and believed that he had obstructed the ball from hitting the stumps intentionally.
