Jadeja likely to be ruled out of Third Test

India has a major setback with lots of injury concerns and withdrawals of key players in the ongoing test series. With the second test set to be played in Vizag, the hosts are short of key players including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami.

India suffered a defeat in the first test on a 28-run difference where Ollie Pope smashed 196 runs to lead the path toward victory.

On this occasion, the reports suggest that Jadeja’s hamstring injury may take more time to recover than expected. Usually, a hamstring injury takes four to eight weeks to head, but it is known that he will be rested for more than the mentioned time.

Some sources suggest that it would be great if he manages to be fit for the fourth Test which is set to be played between February 23 to 27, the participation of the player in the third test seems impossible.

Recently BCCI announced the India squad for the second Test where Jadeja and KL Rahul were ruled out.

Meanwhile, Shami’s condition is also not favorable. He is currently in London and there is no information about the requirements of the surgery. He will be not available for any of the tests against England.

It is expected that he will be making his appearance in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 which is scheduled to be played between March and May.

On the other hand, KL Rahul seems to be ready for the third test starting on February 15. According to BCCI, Rahul complained of right quadriceps niggle which he underwent surgery in 2022.

BCCI is clear on including a key batter for the side. He is currently in the rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy. He is expected to be included in the playing 11 of the third test.

India and England will be playing their second Test starting on February 02 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
