    Ravichandran Ashwin Hits Sixth Test Century During First Bangladesh Test

    The Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has smashed his stunning century in his 101 test helping the side during the first test match of Bangladesh tour of India 2024.

    Ashwin smashed his 6th test century helping the side to score runs after the top and middle order collapse.

    He also becomes the second cricketer to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in the World Test Championship. The 38-year-old cricketer came out to bat at No.8 for India in the ongoing first test against Bangladesh at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.

    He also joined the 1000-run club in WTC by crossing the 52-run mark in India’s first inning. He had 174 wickets to his name in WTC. Ravindra Jadeja was the first cricketer to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in WTC history.

    He achieved the feat during the fourth test of England’s tour of India in Ranchi earlier this year.

    Batting first, India struggled with early dismissals as they lost the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli to Hasan Mahmud. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant helped the side to recover from 3/34.

    Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 56 runs before being sent out by Nahid Rana. Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked the wicket of KL Rahul for 16 runs.

    Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin forged a partnership to help the side cross the 200-run mark. Ashwin smashed his 15th half-century in the first ball of the 60th over while Jadeja scored his half-century in the first ball of the 68th over.

    They went on to score to help the side cross the 300-run mark. During the third ball of the 78th over of the match. By the end of Day 01, India scored 339 runs for six wickets at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
