After an Impressive performance in the India vs Australia T20I series, the young star Ravi Bishnoi has topped the ICC T20I bowler rankings.
Bishnoi becomes No.1 T20I bowler in ICC rankings
Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi has snatched the top rank in the T20I bowler ICC rankings. He joins an elite list of Indian bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah who have reached the summit of the bowling ranking in men’s T20I.
On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav tops the T20I batter ICC rankings and India holds the top spot in both batting and bowling rankings in men’s T20I cricket.
Bishnoi is the only Indian bowler in the top 10 rankings. Hardik Pandya has maintained his spot as the third-ranked all-rounder ahead of South Africa in three T20Is from December 10.
Bishnoi replaced the Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan in the top spot. The Lucknow Super Giants spinner was ranked fifth last week and he has jumped five spots to remove the Afghan spin sensation.
Suryakumar Yadav continues to hold the No.1 spot in the batting rankings following success in his first assignment as the T20I skipper. Suryakumar Yadav led the Indian young team to beat Australia 4-1 in the T20I series.
Bishnoi had 664 points when he was placed fifth last week before playing in the T20I series against Australia. His impressive series against Australia gained him 34 points which helped him to top the ICC rankings. He was just one point short of 700 and had seven more points than Rashid.
Ravi Bishnoi was the leading wicket-taker in the T20I series against Australia, where he whopped nine wickets in just five games. It is one of his best performances in a T20I series since his debut in February last year. He has played 21 games and has bagged 34 wickets.
With his performance against Australia, Bishnoi will be one of India’s best spinner options for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. However, he has a lot of competition with Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.
On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad dropped one spot and stood in seventh place in the Men’s T20I rankings. In Test rankings, New Zealand star Daryl Mitchell jumped one spot to stand in seventh position while Ravichandran Ashwin retained his top rank.
With only six T20I matches left for the Indian side before the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup in 2024, they will be playing their next T20I match against South Africa on December 10 at Kingsmead Cricket Ground.
