Speaking on the game, Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first where Saha and Shubman Gill opened the innings for GT. The home team made a steady start instead and scored just 29 runs for their first wicket.

Rabada bagged the first wicket by dismissing Saha for 11 runs while the team scored 29 runs in 3 overs. Following his dismissal, Kane Williamson walked down to bat for the first time in the season and was expected to play an impressive inning.

But Harpreet Brar dismissed Williamson for 26 runs and turned down the expectations. Sai Sudharsan who used to impress with his bat failed to repeat the same and scored just 26 runs off 22 balls and got dismissed by Harshal Patel in the last ball of the 14th over.

Shubman Gill scored his first half-century of the season with a boundary on the 31st delivery he faced. He scored his half-century at a strike rate of 167.74 which includes 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.

With Gill’s unbeaten 89 and Rahul Tewatia’s 23 off 8, Gujarat Titans scored 199 runs for 4 wickets loss at the end of 20 overs.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings made a struggling start in the 200 runs target inning. PBKS lost their captain Shikhar Dhawan for just 1 run when the team scored 13 runs. Umesh drew the first blood for PBKS by dismissing Dhawan in his very first delivery of the match.

Following Dhawan’s dismissal, PBKS struggled to build a partnership and started to lose their wickets in a regular interval where PBKS scored 83 runs for 4 wickets loss at the end of 10 overs.

Rashid Khan dismissed the dangerous batter Jitesh Sharma for 16 runs and scattered PBKS’ dream of chasing the target. But Shashank Singh shows some positive intent with his maiden IPL half-century.

Ashutosh Sharma’s 31 off 17 deliveries dragged PBKS towards a safer side. With Shashank Singh’s unbeaten 61 off 29 deliveries, PBKS won the match in a thrilling final over game by 3 wickets.
