The batter Rajat Patiday is making his Test debut for India during the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam.
Rajat Patidar makes Test debut at Vizag Clash
The team management has handed the Test debut to the batter during the second Test against England on February 02. Rajat Patidar has played 55 first-class matches and holds various records.
He also amassed 4000 runs with an average of 45.97. It includes 12 centuries and 22 half centuries. He also has an impressive IPL Career which proves his credentials on big stages.
Recently, he made impressive knocks of 111 and 131 against the England Lions. His reliability during crucial times has made him a better choice for selection.
BCCI has revealed that Mohammed Siraj has been released to manage his workload and to make his return for the third Test. Avesh Khan was named as a replacement for Siraj.
“UPDATE: Mr Mohd. Siraj has been released from the India squad for the second Test against England in Vizag,” BCCI said.
“The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played recently. He will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot. Avesh Khan has re-joined the team for the 2nd Test.”
The Men in Blues suffered a defeat in the first test of England’s tour of India in 2024. The Men in Blues are looking forward to registering a victory to level a series.
India won the toss and chose to bat at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were dismissed by Shoaib Bashir and James Anderson respectively.
