“I’ll Bat With You At MCG” R Ashwin’s Reply to Virat Kohli’s Post Goes Viral

Ravichandran Ashwin gave a humourous reply to Virat Kohli who penned an emotional note on Spinner’s retirement. Ashwin announced International Retirement at Gabba and shocked the cricketing community.

Ashwin was part of the playing 11 in the second test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy but was not part of the first and third tests.

Virat Kohli who shared his dressing room with Aswhin for a decade, penned a long note for the India veteran post his retirement.

“I’ve played with you for 14 years and when you told me today you’re retiring, it made me a bit emotional and the flashbacks of all those years playing together came to me.”

“I’ve enjoyed every bit of the journey with you ash, your skill and match-winning contributions to Indian cricket are second to none and you will always and always be remembered as a legend of Indian cricket.”

“Wish you nothing but the best in your life with your family and everything else that it unfolds for you. With massive respect and lots of love to you and your close ones. Thanks for everything buddy,” Kohli had written on X (formerly Twitter).

To which Ashwin responded, “Thanks buddy! Like I told you, I will be walking out with you to bat at the MCG.”

Ashwin announced his decision to retire from international cricket with immediate effect in the post match conference at Gabba, ending his 14 year long career of him playing for India across all formats.

The third match of the BGT ended in draw after the rain spoiled the game on day 05 and both sides have one victory each. The fourth match of the Australia-India tests will be played beginning on December 26 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
